Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's achieved huge fame with the stories she tells of her young heartbreak. Swift began showing an interest in the music industry at a young age. The trajectory of her career was rapid beyond the roles of children's entertainers and her first appearance on stage in crowds of people. Swift was just 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. The following year Swift began to write songs and picked up the guitar. She drew inspiration from the popular country artists like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original songs that were a reflection of her own experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. At the age of 13, Swift's parents decided to sell their farm in Pennsylvania in order to relocate to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could devote more of her time in courting the country music labels within the vicinity of Nashville.
